I was faced with merging six different logistic systems into one transportation management system with a new brand and identity. I was working with a small team offshore designers and the best approach was to build a design ops system. This design ops system was shared and maintained as an ever growing UXUI kit as the project unfolded. I tended to the library as necessary to keep all areas of the TMS aligned.
By having a standard detailed component library implemented across the TMS, we ran into very little issues when the Dev team took the design into the live application. When building the TMS it didn't matter which designer was working on which section of the TMS because all components would be pulled and implemented from the same place. This made it very simple to continue work and not slow down when a team member wasn't available for some reason. We worked cohesively together on each section to ensure our shared components across transportation modes would make it a breeze for development to implement.
